Unveiled

There are stars in your eyes,
Brutality in your hands,
Where scars lie forever in the heart,
A conscience unkempt, untidy,
Heavy trauma sticks in the throat,
Eating at that apple of truth.

The voice won’t dare to admit,
Crimes of the recent past,
And dangers of the present.
The future a persistent memory,
One only available to me,
One that you take for granted.

I create the future, you create the past,
And we fill the blanks between us,
With myths and legends,
Tales and fables,
That fill out the present for all to see.

The people cling to our voices,
Laced with anaesthetic.

It’s easy to be everywhere,
When no one believes you exist.
Hide in the corners, hide in plain sight,
People ignore the foundations they walk on.
They walk through the obvious,
Observe the truth with spite,
And pave their paths with gold,
Laced with blood and lies.

They matter to you, but not to me,
We part, forever and ever more,
Lacerated by fate, a medley of omens,
Gave the Devil his child,
And gave me your love.

  1. "They matter to you, but not to me,

I actually don't heat with the last word! "Laced with Blood and Lies" But "Lacerated by Fate!"

    I didn't get it!
