Record Audiences
They all stood around and watched,
as the mad scramble unfolded,
Not just before their eyes,
But before their children’s too.
People will watch anything these days.
It was awful. It pains me too remember.
They got more than just that one person,
They got us all, In a way.
Sure, my muscles don’t ache,
My cheeks don’t swell like facial embryos.
But we all know,
We did nothing.
They say that all evil needs to do to triumph….
You know the rest.
Its wrong of course.
It just has to look good.
Make for good TV.
Its even better when its real,
When you can reach out and touch,
Not that you ever would,
How rude.
How awful.
Smash and grab.
Its just that easy today.
Walk away.
Time was every one knew every one,
Or so they say,
it was never true,
I have my doubts.
But everyone did know someone.
Someone who would care,
A person who would at least strain,
Strain to gaze,
Break a frown, a brows abstinence,
A little disgust goes a long, long, way.
Lead lines the stomach of man today.
And it makes him sick.
So sick, he cant afford to look away.
But it’s a hefty stomach, to be fair.
Maybe that’s why we’re all so slow?
Ah, leaden men,
Tinny women,
Lets hope you’re not next.
The star
of a gruesome
teleplay…..
