Author's Notes: 'GAIA'S LAST MELODY'

Thinking about climate change and our continued pillage of the earth, I was suddenly inspired to write this poem. Isn't this world a true nightmare, a dark night that never becomes the morning? But we can't wake up from it...

The earth’s alive, please stop and hear,
That dulcent tone peppered with fear,
Rising like a slumber's snore;
Yes, that rhythm, listen clearly,
Clasp it to your bosom clearly,
And pray for rapturous encore.
