Wake me when the storm is over,
And man has passed his god,
Wake me when the dream is over
And reason gets its nod.
Seize the breaking of the morn,
Seize the dog’s dream whimper,
Seize the ordained messiah son,
And shake him till he simpers!
‘He will arise once more in the auburn of the dawn,
And fester in long in weakened hearts,
Both blackened and forlorn.’
When will man be overcome?
His fate dead and sealed,
His dying concrete all the eye can hold,
In the wake of the cracked and shattered field?
The scuppered monk passes along,
The churches aside the neon road,
His robes replaced by regal jewels,
(He earned a golden load).
Father heed this, you’re mission is over,
Your time has long since passed,
Fade and die, and give us back,
Your wealth and guilt amassed!
Destruction seduces the young in mind,
It’s charms are too many to mention,
The brush that sweeps the Earth pristine,
Ready for the olden pension..
And man has passed his god,
Wake me when the dream is over
And reason gets its nod.
